"Montserrat" Kinetic Type Specimen
MOTION DESIGN
This is a project I am most proud of from my Design for Digital Concepts unit within university. The brief is to create a kinetic typography of a typeface specimen of my choice.
I’ve decided to pick up an old project of mine based on a type and layout unit, where I have chosen Montserrat by Julietta Ulanovsky.
I decided to showcase the features I like about it, like its wide range of variable weights and family, as well as its legibility in smaller spaces. I am most proud of this as I have storyboarded this feature to a music I have also produced for it, just to showcase a typeface that shouts fun, but also professional.
The results show an energetic and head-turning motion design that cuts to the beat and showcases why Montserrat is the modern typeface. This project has resulted in being recruited for the Play On internship from the Faculty of Arts and Design.
